He was among the first clinical investigators in Canada to begin doing laser vision correction in 1991 and, since then, has become well recognized as a leading expert in laser vision correction. Since July 1999 he has been performing Lasik refractive surgery, which has quickly become the refractive surgery of choice for both patients and surgeons.
